My blog has successfully been moved to a new and better server, yay!
It took a little longer than expected due to having to wait for the setup and Dustin having other work to do, but all in all, it was a near seamless transition. The photo gallery is down for the time being, until Dustin has a chance to get to it. He’s a busy dude!!
More blog changes coming over the next few weeks to months:
- Installing a new theme and a new layout
- Updates to my “About” and “FAQ” pages
- Bringing back the blogroll (it was lost when I upgraded WordPress, ugh!)
- Articles and calorie cycling calculator
- Updated recipe section with photo gallery
I’m looking forward to a new theme, but I am having a hard time deciding which one I want. I already know the colors and layout I want, now I just have to decide on the header and other modifications I’ll be making. The hardest part of doing web design for me is deciding on colors and fonts, just like the hardest part of blogging is coming up with a title. LOL I can’t stand spending so much time on the smallest parts of a project. *sigh* What can ya do?
After Mastering Public Health tipped me off to Field Roast, meatless meat that is soy-free, I just HAD to go buy some. So, we headed out to Mother Earth’s on Saturday after I did 30 minutes (7.5 miles) on my recumbent bike and upper body strength training. It’s about 40 miles away, but totally worth the trip.
It’s basically just like Whole Foods, minus the large seafood, meat and produce departments — theirs is much more limited.
Of course, I can’t go to a store like this for one thing and not end up getting 7000 things.
I got some really great loot though!

These salmon snacks are actually baby food
They were in the freezer and looked like a great, high protein snack.

They had a huge selection of Field Roast products, but the only actual “roast” they had was the celebration roast (stuffed). I got it anyway.

And some sausage…

…deli meat-like slices

Plus more Tofurky products. <3 I haven't tried any of the Field Roast products yet, but I will definitely give a review when I do.

These adorable little cups of “just add water” organic, vegan soups ++ light in sodium and calories (360mg each)

Dustin spotted these beauties — Black beluga lentils.
Didn’t know they came in black!! So cool. Can’t wait to try them!

Zero calories diet soda sweetened with truvia (stevia)

Pink salt!
I don’t use salt much in cooking, but I figure, if and when I use it, it might as well be pink hehe

Pad Thai sauce made with entirely wholesome ingredients and only 5mg sodium!! Love!

Mini Late July sandwich cookies. I had 3 of them, they aren’t that great. They are just “ok” but you get 10 cookies for 120 calories, which is cool, I guess lol.

Raw milk yogurt cheese

Smoked salmon pate

Organic dip mixes, which I plan to mix with Greek yogurt to eat with veggies and other crunchy stuff.

The last food pics I took were of Sunday dinner. Being I’ve been working on getting my blog back up, I haven’t spent much time in the kitchen. Mom made a pot of sauce on Sunday, so we had that with turkey meatballs and veggie sausage that was in the fridge and I wanted to use up (the bad ingredient kind
! ) over spaghetti.

Enjoyed with 1/4 piece of a Trader Joe’s garlic naan bread.

The veggie sausage tasted delicious, but unfortunately it contained soy protein isolates. Ugh! I bought it before I found out about them. I also realized that Luna bars have it. *sigh* I have to go through everything in the cabinets. I really hate throwing it all out.
Why do you have to use nasty ingredients that I don’t know about until it’s too late, food manufacturers?!
Ah well, live and learn, right?
A romaine side salad with EVOO + vinegar

A glass of 100% grape juice — did you know that 100% concord grape juice has the same health benefits as red wine? The more you know.
I really wanted a glass of white wine that I have grown fond of, but we were out and it was sleeting outside, so I had a glass of antioxidant-rich juice instead.

For dessert: About a scoop of Haagen Dazs chocolate chocolate chip ice cream…

Lovely Sunday dinner.
I should have known that Aunt Flo was on her way when I was craving that chocolate ice cream. She showed up yesterday, so I’ve been dealing with her. Blah! I’m totally exhausted right now, so I’m going to cuddle with hubby and watch TV.
Nite nite!

Wow! Delicious looking eats!
So glad your site made a smooth transition!
Wow! You got so many goodies!
Can’t wait to see the new theme and layout! I desperately want one too!
Pink salt is one of the coolest things! I got some not too long ago, and it definitely has a milder flavor than regular table salt.
Your food looks so good! I want to go grocery shopping with you, I mean: salmon pate, black lentils, Late July cookies, polenta, pink salt!! For some reason I can never find polenta here. I think it’s ’cause I’m in grits country. That’s my theory, maybe I’m not looking hard enough.
By the way, nice changes to the layout! Pretty.
Oh, wow – so excited to see my “name” on your blog, Jenn!
I haven’t gotten to try the big celebration roast yet, but the Italian sausage and smoked tomato slices are great. And the McDougall’s soups came in handy during college — the lentil flavor is VERY filling. Look forward to your reviews.
i like the new layout Jenn!
i tried the simple organic dips before and they r pretty good! they also have taco seasonings too, which are lower in sodium..yay!
Excited to try those lentils
They probably taste like regular ones lol.
wow, lucky you!

Jenn, I like the new layout a lot.
I think I’m gonna give tofuturkey a try sometime. Not a vegetarian or anything, just love trying new food
